In “Starry Eyes,” The Weeknd is discussing a common theme of "Dawn FM"–caution in regard to love–in light of a special girl. More specifically, Abel’s dream girl–one who he has been enamoured with since he was “young and alone in the world,"–has gone through struggles of her own: ones which have left her "shattered.” Despite the previous tracks on the album demonstrating that The Weeknd has learnt of the dangerously consuming nature of love through experience .
