It won the Grammy Awards for Song of the Year & Record of the Year in 1982 and also reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video was directed by Australian film director Russell Mulcahy. Bette Davis Eyes was originally written in 1974 by Donna Weiss & Jackie DeShannon, the latter of whom recorded the song that same year for her album New Arrangement. .
